I have a really close friend who is due in April and I want to get her some more personal “mommy” gifts for her to enjoy during her pregnancy (before all the baby showers and baby gifts, etc). I am several years younger than her so she is my first pregnant friend and I’m not exactly sure what would be nice to have while being pregnant.

I already got her some extremely comfortable shoes and want to put together a little basket of extra stuff that she would really enjoy (i.e. lavendor lotions, teas, etc). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I mailed a baby gift to a friend who lives in another state just before Christmas,after receiving an announcement of the baby’s birth.She & I were close before she moved but since the move we have only corresponded by mail. I don’t even know her phone number or if she has an e-maill address, since she moved about a year ago. I am a little hurt that she hasn’t responded to thank me for the gift, not that that’s the reason I sent it. She is a nice person but I find it upsetting that she would not send me an e-mail or call or something. Should I just forget about it or write to her & ask her if she got the gift. You can put a family’s info on the letter (perhaps they recently had a fire/flood/financial loss etc.)

This is her third wedding, and I’ve already gotten her some expensive crystal and some flatware, but I’m kind of tired of giving her stuff, since she keeps getting divorced.

Also, she’s marrying my ex-husband, whom she met at my wedding in 2007. They were sneaking around behind my back for year before I found out about it. I wouldn’t have found out at all, except the b@stard knocked her up, so it was kind of hard to miss. Now they’re expecting triplets because of the IV therapy, and I have to throw them a shower before the wedding.

So I’m wondering if I can get them one gift for both occasions or if I have to get them separate wedding and baby shower gifts. And do I have to get them three baby gifts?

Are there any special themes for third weddings like there are for anniversaries, like “paper anniversary?”
I almost forgot. It’s June wedding, if that changes anything. And do you think I should pay for the bridesmaid dress? I don’t think she should expect me to pay for yet another bridesmaid dress. That’s just tacky.

Recently I had a get together to celebrate our newborn baby girl. We had around 30 families and all of them got our little angel lots of beautiful and expensive gifts. But the problem is that none of them have given us a gift receipt. We have too many baby blankets and baby dresses which is of no use since most of them will be worn only a few times (our baby is a big size, already wearing 3-6 months). I dont want to call each and every guest and ask for a gift receipt.
Is there any way I can know where the clothes were brought from?

I **** it to see it all going to waste or going to a donation. It would really help to exchange them for something we need like diapers, etc but how do I find out where a particular dress was purchased?

To : This mommy makes pretty babies - I know its rude to ask the gift for a receipt, thats why I have already mentioned that I dont want to ask the guest for the receipt.
And about being ungrateful, I’m not trying to be ungrateful to our friends. I’ve already mentioned that they have given us beautiful and expensive gifts but some of the dresses dont even fit. Thats why was trying to get something useful.
