The proper time to send out any thank you cards is usually within 1-2 weeks after the event. Baby shower thank you cards really need to be done before the baby is born or you may realize you dont have the time/energy to complete them once the new arrival comes.

You send out the thank you notes after the baby shower. A week or two is most acceptable. If you wait till after the baby is born then you probably wont end up getting them out because the baby is going to be what your thinking of first and foremost for the first few months.

I thanked everyone at the shower so I never sent them because it is time consuming and I had more important things to do like take care of my newborn and try to sleep.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I appreciated everything I got, but seriously, how many times do you have to thank someone. No one should expect thank you cards- I don’t.

I sent my thank you cards out within the week after the shower. Usually I receive thank yous within the same amount of time after a shower. You will have so much to do after the baby is born including sending thank yous for the gifts that will come when the baby is born. Good luck and Congratulations!!

before the baby is born…within a month of your baby shower.
at the time of the baby’s birth…you send out birth announcements …..you can include a picture too which is always nice.

With my daughter we sent them out the week after the shower.. We had our baby shower for our son on the 1st and I am just getting ready to send out Thank you cards this week.. As long as you send them out within a few weeks of the shower then you are good to go, but I would send them out before the baby is born or you may not get the chance.

I would do it before the baby is born. You will be pressed for time after she arrives! Besides, etiquette really calls for thank-yous to be mailed within 6 weeks of the baby shower, at the latest. I’d mail them sooner than that.

I personally think that the invitations should be sent within the month after your baby shower. That way it gives you time to write out all of them & get them mailed.

ANTIME someone gives you a gift you should send a thank-you note pretty soon (within a week?). It’s just the polite thing to do. When the baby is born you send them an announcement, too!!
