I have bought a charm necklace for my cousin with her son’s name on it as well as a picture frame. My daughter just go ta Snow Globe with a beautiful moon and stars in it (along with glitter) that has her name engraved, I love it. I live in California and there is a store called Things Remembered and they engrave almost anything, check it out! Good luck!

My mother bought me a picture frame with my son’s name and decorated it with a bunch of baby stickers. Afterwards she got a bunch of close friends to sign in and put his hospital picture in it for my baby shower … actually, she didn’t put the picture in it until a month laterwhen he was born, but the picture frame was sweet.

If you’re handy with a crochet hook and yard, make a baby blanket.

You could get a nice little comfy baby blanket and embroider the name on it. Get a book about it at the library.

I have given a cute little pillow case (small for a child’s pillow) printed with the “Princess Alana” for my niece. She still uses it today.

A key ring. It was engraved with the birthday month/day and year of his 16th birthday…. when he would legally be driving. The parents really got a kick out of it.

This was a privileged baby; he already had everything else from doting grandparents, so I tried for something different.

This is something I wish I had bought when I was pregnant with my daughter. You can buy a teddy bear that records the sound of the mother’s heart beat (the way it sounds inside the womb). A friend of mine had one and anytime she would turn the switch to ‘on’ on the teddy bear in front of her toddler he would stop what he was doing immediately and just listen to the heart beat. It was like he remembered hearing that before!

I’ve purchased a baby frame with the name and all the vitals for my best friend’s son from …it’s too cute! There was a mixup in the engraving but they were nice and quick to replace it. There are more cute ones on the personalizationmall.com also.
The cutest monogramed things I received for my little girl were diaper bags. I got a Vera Bradley with her name on it. Since we’re military and do not live close to family, a close friend sent us a red/white checkered diaper bag with a Arkansas Razorback and our last name on it. It’s my hubby’s alma mater so he even likes to carry it around (even though it has fringe on the top). :o)
