What baby shower gifts did you get that you wish you didn’t register for?
jmysmama asked:
What do you wish you would have registered for?
We’re not having a baby. A friend is having one and asked the question and it started a whole discussion!
Motor oil…that’s too funny…my husband put PS2 games now…so he could play them with our son…see what happens when you let the fathers use the scanner!!!!!
yeah…what did you register for that you were glad you got?

We looked at registering as picking things we couldn’t afford to buy ourselves. We did that with the baby bjorn too. I loved mine!!

I didn’t actually register for these, but 4 oz bottles are a waste of money and space. Your baby is just going to outgrow them in a few months and the 8 or 10 oz bottles can hold 4 oz just as well.

a case of motor oil. i didn’t think anyone would buy it, I just put it on the registry as a joke and then my wife’s sister in law got it for her. It would have been funny except that she didn’t get my wife anything else. So I just used it in my truck.

those baby towels with the little hood thing. what a waste, just use a regular towel

a new baby swing my aunt gave me my cousins old one and I wish we would have gotten a new one.

That fisher price vibrating ocean wonders seat. My son used it maybe twice, just get a swing…

Highchair. It takes up to much space. Get a booster seat. By the time they start eating, they can sit up. And you cam get really nice ones to simple ones. Another thing is the giant stroller. I love the carrier car seat but the stroller is just too big. Wipe warmer-stupid!!
I wish I registered for an exersaucer (I got a hand me down). It’s the best thing in the world, especially when you need to get something done. I really good umbrella stroller, one for taller people. I can’t see spending over $50 for an umbrella stroller. I wish I registered for more toddler stuff, like plates and flatware and sippy cups.
You didn’t ask…but the things I’m glad I registered for: the baby bjorn. I used that ALL THE TIME. It was great for shopping at the grocery store.

I would say 4oz. bottles for me and my husband didn’t use them for our son’s, also I would say newborn diapers and newborn clothing, b/c your baby will grow so fast they won’t even need the newborn clothes are the diapers! CONGRATS!!! I hope my answer was able to help you out.

baby wash cloths. Normal ones work just as well. Same as baby bath towels.
Diaper genie. How many is too many???

what i got that i wish i hadnt . have to also go with the 4 oz bottles . didnt accure to me you can put 4 oz in an 8 oz bottle too [LOL] i would also have to say much of the things i picked out in newborn sizes [diapers , clothes , layettes ] these all got very little use . and the fancy small diaper bag that looked sooo cute , i found with diaper bags bigger is better because it seems you can never pack enough in them . and also the little contraption you put ******* and rings in the dishwasher to wash them in . seemed that gunk flies up with water pressure from the sprayer and lodges in the ****** and on the rings where you have to hand wash them a second time . and a gerber breatpump [OUCH]
what do i wish i would have got?
a sling to carry baby in early months and a back pack to carry baby when older . one of medelas ****** pump kits with plug adapter [ so much nicer and easier than the manual or gerber/evenflo battery ones ] and i wish i would have registered for a nice carseat or when my kids got a bit older .

I wish I hadn’t wasted my time on a Diaper Genie. Now I just use these little disposable garbage bags that I buy at the Dollar store (1oo bags for a buck) and empty the diaper garbage every day. A lot easier to clean up then the hassle of the Diaper Genie.
Our swing was the best gift becuase our son had constant ear infections and this was the only thing that would calm him and he slept many nights in the reclined position.
I wish we had chosen a better/higer quality baby monitor. The ones we have now have a lot of static and interference.

One of my bestfriends got a baby monitor with audio & visual. They didn’t register for it but she suggested that I get one. You can see & hear the baby in the comfort of your own bed.
