Diapers are always a good thing because you can never have to many also clothes and developmental toys……you should find out if she is regestered anywhere and go and look at the list that way you are getting things she really wants

Gift Cards!! A gift card of about $20. They will love you forever! You may also want to throw in a nice baby blanket as well. Total spending, around $30.00.

The best gift i can think of for a new mom is diapers or if you are really short on cash a “gift certificate” for a nite of babysitting or house cleaning after the baby is born. She will get lots of outfits and toys so something like this will really stand out and be helpful!

Find out where they are registered. Usually there is something on there that is inexpenisve enough to buy. She will appreciate whatever you get for her. Look at the list. Usually there are some baby basics that are under $10 like washcloths or onsies or something like that. If you want to get something different then search the clearance racks for cute clothes. You can find great deals on clearance. One tip, it can be frustrating when somebody buys you something similar to what is on your list, but isn’t on your list - why go spend the time registering if nobody pays attention to the list? Anyway, have fun.

Little, but necessary things can be a great gift! Make a basket up of things like infant acetominophen drops, a thermometer, pacifier(s), booties, nail clips, bottle brush, etc. Check at dollar stores and you will find a lot for cheap. OR you could make her a gift certificate good for your babysitting services or housekeeping help.

A picture frame with the baby’s name painted on it, maybe add some painted flowers or polka dots too… Inexpensive yet very thoughtful, unique and creative.

I bet that they will appreciate your gift, no matter what it is. You can put inexpensive stuff together and make them a gift basket. One of the things that I don’t see to often in baby showers are diapers. I wish I had gotten diapers at my baby shower. You know, it would be nice if you gave them your time, I mean, offer them to babysit once or twice. By helping them take care of baby, they can have time to sleep because the new baby will take a lot of their sleeping time.

A gift card. That way they can get whatever they need for the baby. If all else fails, get a cute little outfit! It doesn’t need to be expensive, and if they already have it or they don’t like it, include a gift receipt and they can take it back.

One of the best gifts I got was “hangers” believe it or not they are very useful and I had not though about them. They cost less than 2 dollars for a pack of 10. Also another friend gave me all kinds of over the conter meds for baby like Mylicon drops, saline for kids, tylenol for kids, stuff like that all of that came very handy good luck!

I would make a gift basket of shampoo, lotions, diaper rash and so forth… This will save you lots of money. Also you took your time to put it together.

My usual baby shower gift is…
A stuffed animal dressed in a baby outfit for the baby and wrapped in a small baby blanket. :)

How about a custom embroidered onesie or blanket….personalized with baby’s name, monogram or a message just from you??

If this sounds like something you might be interested in….contact me and I can have my custom embroiderer create one for you!! (Or point you in the right direction for someone local to you who could do this for you!!)

It’s true that diapers are a no-fail gift for every expectant parent - have you thought about making them a diaper cake? They are so adorable and such a fresh and clever way to gift diapers. Let’s face it, it’s just no fun to give a plain old pack of diapers, but if you make a diaper cake, MTB will be telling people about it for months after the baby arrives.

Here are some websites to check out-

This shouldn’t cost you more than a pack of diapers and a roll of ribbon! And your friends will love it because you made it for them. Good luck!

Don’t worry about spending a lot of money; no one expects you to be a millionaire! A cute outfit would be appreciated–you have no idea how many clothes a baby goes through in a day, between what comes out of its mouth and what comes out of its ****! Go to your local Kmart or similar store and pick out a cute outfit from the baby section–you can also buy a set of bibs (day of the week is cute) or onesies.

My favorite baby gift is a nice bib or set of bibs, and I write on the card, “Life’s messy. Wear a bib.”

A cute bib set with a burbing cloth. Inexpensive and used often.
