something off of their registry. might look simple or unimportant to you but the mommy and daddy to be chose it so it’s something that they want/need:o)

Anything you buy, be sure it will fit her AND the season. Such as, if she’ll be born in the winter (January timeframe), anything you buy that she’ll be able to wear must be warm, with little booties and such.
I can’t tell you how many adorable clothes people bought for our son that ended up in the ‘donation pile’ due to this issue.

I agree with the first poster. If you want to get something the parents will really appreciate, shop off the registry.
Cute stuff is great, but practical stuff is important. Why not pick out a real cute pink outfit and pair it with something from the registry?

I wouldn’t get the gift sets. They’re more expensive just because they’re wrapped pretty.
I always throw together a bunch of small items like the clippers, burping pads, wash rags, socks. Anything that is inexpensive and get a variety of things. That to me was the best gifts I got.

i have two suggestions, which were great gifts i received at my shower. The first was a small infant tub filled with baby washclothes, hooded towel, baby wash. The other was a small basket filled with Dreft (infant laundry detergent), bottle brushes, wipes and diapers. My suggestion is stay away from clothing. Women get so many clothes for newborns that they never wear, you can never give enough baby wash, diapers, etc. Stuff that is actually used !!! Good luck.

This will give her the “gift of sleep” if you get this for her, a white noise machine for the baby’s room. Our daughter had it from day 1 and she sleeps so well and outside noises can’t be heard in her room making her sleep longer and more peacefully. It was the best gift I ever got!!! Here’s a link: We have the sound conditioner one and it’s so fantastic. We have given them for gifts too and the Mommy’s have said it’s their favorite gift and are ever thankful! =)

Practical !!!!!!!!!!!!
- ****** pumps
- lots of blankets
- diapers/wipes
- outfits (3months - 6 months)
- Changing pad
- Crib sheets ( in neutral )
And you could do the gift set idea, get a baby tub and put all tub toys and towels and so forth or do a diaper bag one.. put wipes and diapers and burb rags so forth. Or you could do a first aid one: baby Tylenol and nail clippers, thermometer so forth.
* day at the spa gift certificate ( with no expiration date )

I always get one of those baskets back in the craft section, usually wicker and fill it with items. I usually put diapers in the bottom so the other stuff sets up on top. I usually put pacifiers, the gas medicine, a few bottles, wipes, wash cloths, soap, shampoo, towels to dry baby off, and some bath toys… it usually depends but that’s a jist of what I put in them but I’ve been told the basket comes in handy afterwards:)

One of the best gifts I received was a small basket with a baby tylenol, good thermometer, gas drops and washable waterproof pads for the changing table. Used those a lot. Target or babies r us giftcards were also much appreciated for the things you end up needed but never thought about.

You should definitely get something from their baby registry, but if they don’t have any… then your best gifts will be :
diapers
onesies
bathtub
recieving blankets
bottles
those are the most necessary and very affordable gifts for a newborn.

We just put together a gift basket last night.
I get a wicker laundry basket and load it with stuff!! I checked the registry for little things she wanted, here’s what we stuffed in:
-Diapers
-Binkies
-Blanket
-Towel/washcloth set
-window shades
-Disposable diaper bags
-teething toys
-stuffed animal
-hangers
-bottle brush
We wrapped it in plastic with a pretty bow and it looks amazing!

* Baby feeding time necessities- Items that can help feed babies are always great gift choices. Baby bottles, baby formula, bottle holders, nipples, ****** pump, bibs, feeding spoon, baby dishes, tipper cup and burp towels are great choices you can get.
* Baby toys- These can come in different kinds. Some toys can help the child learn, while others are only made solely for entertainment. Examples of baby toys include teething toys, play mats, musical toys, mobile, teething toys and stuffed animals.
