Nice Baby Gifts?
Krissy M asked:
My older sister is pregnant for the first time, and this is the first baby coming into our family,( she is the oldest , and the baby will be the first grandchild of my parents). I am looking for some nice ideas for gifts for not only the baby, but some nice ones for her and her fiance that seems appropriate as a gift for the arrival of the little one!

I always give gift cards to shoe stores so they can buy the baby it’s first shoes from me.

Don’t go for the teddy bear! It’s way too average and not really special at all. Get him or her a REALLY cute stuffed animal which isn’t average. Maybe a stuffed and CUDDLY giraffe or hippo? There aren’t really many more choices because he or she will be a newborn and I think that a stuffed animals is what kids love anyway! And it’ll remain for the rest of their life as their special toy. =)

Something I think would be really nice for them would be a gift card to a 3d 4d ultrasound center! They have different packages you can get and I think it would be something they would really enjoy! I know I would!

you could make a gift basket for the baby, with like a blanket, baby wash, lotion ( lavender is the best cause it calms babies and helps them sleep), an outhfit, put it in a cute gift bag with a card!!!! You could get your sister a gift card for somewhere out to eat or something like that, it’s your sister so you would know her better that me, just get them something they would like.

Diapers and wipes is something the baby can always use. If you want to get the parents a gift together then paying for a nice dinner and hotel for some alone time would be great. For separate gifts mom would probably like to be pampered with a massage or manicure. Dad would probably like to go bowling or some sort of sports activity with the guys.

a few of my favorite things when i had my children were in this order
1) electric ****** pump
2)co sleeper
3)a snuggly
4)sented diaper disposel bags (not the diaper genie you can buy a box of diaper size bags at like the dollar store there super at helping eliminate oder
those 4 things will get you through the toughest part after having children but dont under estimate the small things im telling you its a god send to have diapers wipes face clothes onises diaper bags coming out your **** because you need these things imensly and i know your probably going for a knock out gift but im telling these are really important and really appreciated something else you can do not that they will be willing to part with the baby right away is make a coupon book good for free babysitting a night out for you to come cook meals clean the house watch the baby while your sisters sleeping because she will be sleep deprived another gift you can get your sister and her husband is a 3 d ultra sound their expensive but worth it those are the major things i can think of for now beside the basic that she will need car seat stroller swing vibrating seat ect congrats!
i know the pump and co sleeper are expensive but as a ****** feeding mom of two i swear by these things if you can go in on presents with someone i highly recommend these

I bought my niece diapers, lotion, baby wash, lotion, first aid kit, grooming kit, bottles, one compete outfit in 6 months. She loved it. Said everyone else bought her clothes and things she already had for the baby.

I would have liked an offer to help around the house for a couple days after the baby is born and maybe make up a coupon book with different chores/favors for them to turn in when they want like one free night of babysitting, washing bottles, etc. If you are looking for a real present my lifesaver was a vibrating bouncer. My daughter would always fall asleep in there even when I couldn’t get her to sleep myself.

You might want to think of the games that you enjoyed as kids.
For a Christmas gift for my baby (while I was still pregnant), my brothers bought a Big Wheel. They are these three wheeled tricycles that we loved playing with when we were little. Even though my son won’t use it for a few more years, it was so special to me that my brothers bought it for him. On a side note, we didn’t know what we were having and my brothers said that a big wheel was perfect since I had as much fun playing with it as they did!
The perfect gift for them is a gift card to a local resturant. We did this for our anniversary only two months after he was born. He was sleeping for long stretches at night and so, we put him to bed and my best friend came over to watch him sleep while we went out for a late dinner. It was great to have some couple time and not worry about how the baby was doing. If he woke up, my friend was instructed to call us and we would be able to be home in 10 minutes.
Good luck!!

Depends. Do you want it to be a sentimental gift from you? An original? Then try your hand at sewing or photography and give her something meaningful.
Do you want it to be practical? Get her what she requests from her registry. Skip the stuffed animals-trust me. Babies won’t even be interested in them until their about two. And they’re not very useful.
If your not too good at sewing, let my friend do it for you:
Good luck!
