How much should I spend on a baby shower gift for a co worker?
marcom999 asked:
I really like my co worked and want to get her baby something nice, but I dont want to be considered cheap. Most gifts in the registry range from $20 to $60.
Would $60 be too much what is a good range?
Thank you so much! I ended up with $50

At the least $15

I would go in between at $40, that way you know it’s not too much or too little.

It’s not about being cheap, it’s about being thoughtful and getting something that is useful. If you and your co-worker are friends then I would hope she wouldn’t think you are cheap–especially if you are buying something that she picked out herself.
I would really discourage you from spending more than you can afford in your budget to avoid looking cheap. (I’d probably spend about $30-$40.)

My coworkers spent about $20 per gift for me. I wouldn’t spend much more than that if I were you. Save the expensive gifts (car seats, strollers, crib mattress, etc.) for family members and close friends.

It really depends on how well you like the co-worker…just because you are invited does not mean you have to attend or buy a gift. But to answer the question $20-$25 is sufficient. You can buy a package of diapers and a nice outfit or blankets….

I would spend around $30. I would be appropriate if you are close and want to spend more but it is not necessary. Many times work places have showers etc. every other week and this gets quite expensive, but if it is not very often at your job, then spend what you feel like.

$20 or $30 is good.
