Baby Shower Gifts?
warriorchic84 asked:
I’m giving my sister a baby shoer this weekend and I’ve picked out a few games to play. But I’m kinda lost on the gifts for the winners of the games. I can’t spend a lot of money but I wanna get something that the winner would like. I’ve been to showers before where the winner got a baby gift to open and give to the mother, but I really don’t wanna go that way. She’s going to be getting enough gifts that day. I think the winner should get their own gift for winning.

lotions, candles, makeup, it doesn’t have to be anything big, just a little something, the day is for the soon to be mother, so you don’t really want to give the winners anything huge.

Go to the dollar tree, they have alot of girly things. Everyone always got to keep their gifts at my shower

no one expects anything big, my friend is a florist and she gave out bunches of flowers for my shower, it could be expensive though if you don’t have access to it, but you could give out a rose or a carnation or something.

My shower is next week and my Mom went to bath and body works and they had a huge clearance she got some really nice candles for 1.86 after 90 off and some body lotions and sprays which came out to like 3 each……. You can always go to the dollar store and grab some bath things like bath fizz balls and maybe a body wash,,,,,,You can always get a few candles…I went to happy harrys and got a village candle they were 5bucks on sale and my mom got the air freshener to match that is going to be the gift for who doesnt say baby the most hehe!

I’d pick up a little candle set from Target or something, or a yankee candle. everyone likes candles! or go to Ross or a similar store and get some cute picture frames. they are usually around 2-4 dollars there and they have some quite nice ones. really, every shower i have been to i couldnt have cared less about prizes. yall have fun!

Give out $5 gift cards to people. Maybe to starbucks or target. If you play 5 games…that’s only $25. Everyone loves gift cards. Or you could buy little bags of Lindtt chocolate. Those run like $2.50 a bag. I applaud you for wanting to give out something that people will actually use rather than wasting your money on stuff from the dollar store that people will throw away.

candles, picture frames or any girlie gift. Remember the invitees are there for your sister not to leave with a great gift for themselves.

the last time i went to a babyshower, there were so many cute things….
candles with the babies due date on them (blue and pink and yellow), picture frames, gift cards to places like borders, starbucks, walmart…there were small baby bottles filled with candies, soaps, lotions, fingernail polishes, wallets, figurines, calanders, stationary sets, cookie cutters & kitchen utensils, potpourri holders..
just be creative.
go to a dollar store and just pick out some cute feminine little things… if you want to spend a little more, go to a walmart.

Obvioulsy your shower is this weekend and you don’t have time to order anything on line….so here are some quick and cost effective ideas:
Instand Movie Night Baskets: Get a small basket (dollar store??) and fill it with a Blockbuster gift certificate ($5.00) a pack of popcorn and two bottles of soda. Wrap it in tulle (you can get this by the yard at WalMart for like 50 cents). Voila….movie night gift basket!!
Go to a store like Ross, Marshalls, Mervyns and look around in their housewares, or accesory departments. You may be able to pick up some nice photoframes, leather-bound journals, bath products, photo albums, etc for a SONG!!!
I don’t think people really expect to Win Big at the baby shower….but it’s always nice to have a nice gift that is useful and fun!!
